Photography Galleries

With photography, a person has the ability to stop time.  To hold it in memory, seemingly forever.  I use photography in two ways:  first and foremost, as a "stand alone" artistic media.  I love the interplay of color, composition, light and shadow.  I love the limitations of the media itself, and the challenge of attempting to capture the image seen by my "mind's eye" onto paper.  I also use photography as a resource to help me create and compose a painting.  I use several different photographs to help me remember and focus on an image, so that I can recreate the feeling of that image onto canvas or paper.
