2020 Art & Photography
This year did not readily lend itself to art for me. For those who create art, you'll understand. You have to be in the "right" frame of mind, whether it's painting, sculpting, photographing, or any other form that art takes. For me - I felt in limbo. For others, it released a lot of creative energy and they were able to be more prolific in their art. I both applaud and envy them. I, however, just couldn't.
This is the first photograph I've taken this year, two days after 9/11 anniversary. It's titled "Lest We Forget" and it completely reflects my mood for 2020. And the entreaty is for not just to remember the events of September 11, 2001 - it's to also remember what life was like before the pandemic. When we could greet each other with a hug. When we valued the individual, whatever their color, creed, or religion. When we loved each other, and this country.
I so very much miss that.
